Thought I would post this one too, just to show off his big tail. Don't you just love the black tipped ears.
This week it's discoveries in the backyard.

It still amazes me, these odd creatures that are in Australia. I want to go back!
They really are delightful creatures.
he good
What an adorable wallaby. I love his lil face!
He is the cutest thing. Are they really found in your backyard?
Aussie: Yes, along with Kangaroos. But this is a rural area with lots of undeveloped bush land and as we have been having a drought for some time they come up closer to the houses to find water and green grass.
Trailing his tail behind him! But look at that cutest little pose with his front paws, Aussie. You want to give him the biggest hug!
Would you say he's tame, since he's in your backyard? My sister in Michigan has deer that walk around their farm in Michigan...and some even flit through our woods in Atlanta from time to time. I'm not sure I'd call ours tame, though.
Aussie: No not the least bit tame. They rely on smell to pick up danger and I was up wind of him, so he could not smell me but could see me but I kept the camera over my face and sat still so he could not quite work out what I was..
I have 5 acres of land and so do all the people along our road, at the back of us is people who have 5-10 acres. This area is classed as rural/residential and has been named a nature corridor and as such you need permission from the council to cut down trees or clear the land in any way. So we have only cleared the area needed for our homes and to make it safe from bush fires. So the kangaroos and wallaby's live in the uncleared bush land, but due to our on going drought they come up close to the houses for water (most places have a small dam) and green grass.
Very nice picture Aussie. I have always been amazed by these creatures
Beautiful creature. I wonder what it makes of us and the strange glass and metal structures we sometimes point at them! Nice capture. All the best, Dave.
I still want to visit Oz ... one day!
I love this one, the expression is so funny !
Beautiful!
Perfect taking, Aussie. This animal is difficult to be made an idea as large as. At first it seems a kangaroo, but I imagine that it must around be very many smaller when comparing it with the grass of his!
