Ride Anyone

I think every Asian country has a version of this nonmotorized public transportation. It's nice to see the Chinese version.
Aussie: They were fading out as a public transport in China, then with progress came unemployment so people were encouraged to take them up again. Good idea with the increase in tourists.
Lovely capture of street life. Very natural and well composed. Great to see this type of transport as they have a modern version in Edinburgh now and appears to be popular.
Aussie: Thank you for dropping by and commenting
They have an equivalent of these all over Europe, Aussie, in the Tut-Tuts. It sure beats the cost of gasoline!! And we all know it;s better for the environment!
Aussie: They encouraged people who were unemployed to take them up again. Probably a good idea with the increase in tourists once China became more open.
good photo Aussie,I like the Wall or fence.
Aussie: The wall is part of the temple etc attached to the giant Buddha.
They look fun to ride in. Wel furnished too, Aussie. Did you take a ride?
Aussie: I did have a ride and as I'm no little thing I made sure he got a good tip for his hard work.
Ah, tis photograph brought back memories. One of my Nephews pedalled one of these around for a while on the streets of Victoria, Canada.
Blooming hard work, I can tell you. A splendid image, Aussie
Aussie: Really hard work if the your passengers are a bit on the big size.
Excellent view of streetlife. I am guessing that I have missed a lot of interesting photographs. I will take my time and thoroughly enjoy `catching up`. (:o)
Aussie: Roz as you have probably figured out I spent 17 days in China
These look wonderful tings, Aussie and carbon neutral too.
Aussie: I don't know about that, the poor little guy peddling my bike was expelling lots of carbon dioxide in great huge puffs.
Beautiful capture Aussie. Have you had a ride in one of these? I wish I could have one!
Aussie: We went though the small alleyways in the city in one. It was a terrific experience as these alleyways are part of the old way of life where people lived in little groups of houses where they shared a courtyard where they cooked etc.
My wife like riding a bike...perhaps she'd like one of these! Nice shot Aussie.
Aussie: Bill, she could earn a few extra bob or two taking people on little tours of the village.
Sure why not, it is a lovely shot, Aussie.
I like the way you show the 'street life' thanks for sharing these pictures.
Aussie: Glad your enjoying them Astrid. I did take lots of typical tourist shots of the great wall etc but I think I enjoyed the candids more.
This has a timeless quality about it. A more leisurely way to travel.
Ingrid
Aussie: Thank you Ingrid
So this is the downtown taxi rank then Aussie, did you have a ride in one of these? It's good you kept this one in colour.
Aussie: Yes I did go for a ride in one. Poor little rider, he was puffing by the end.
Nicely composed, Aussie.
Wonderful photo. I love this type of candid photography - well done!
I remember rickshaws when they were pulled by hand! Love this composition and the glimpse of elsewhere.
Another great documentary shot here Aussie
Great picture with the diagonal approach to the roadway and wall.
