OLD MAN of STOR
It started snowing just after this photo was taken. It's quite a hike to get to this spot and it's a very steep one to get to the base of the rock.

Wow! Aussie! Certainly it is a phantasmagoric landscape. It had to be an adventure to arrive until there!
Aussie: It was a wonderful adventure, one I'de like to repeat in lots of countries.
Eerie and spooky!!!!
Aussie: No it was cold, damp, exhausting and absolutely beautiful. But I agree that this pic looks a bit eerie, like you could disappear in the mist and never be seen again.
I must say, Aussie, that this reminds me of Ansel Adams!
Aussie: Now thats what I call a massive compliment. Thank you Ginnie.
What a wild looking formation. I can only imagine what sorts of magical stories people invented about this rock. This captures the atmosphere very well.
Aussie: It's a huge rock, I have a pic that is miles away, yet it can still be seen in the distance.
Very mystical. Good capture in what had to be low light.
Love this shot, Aussie. It's a likey for me.
Aussie: Glad you like it Kay.
Wow : just wonderful... We feel a so nice atmosphere.... As if a fairy is going to appear here... I like that !
How erie.Love the mystery of this. Great photos... where is this?
Aussie: The Isle of Skye in Scotland.
Great landscape. Erie is a word coming to me.
So did you get to the base of the rock?
Beautiful, surreal and mystical. Love it!
Nice misty landscape. Mysterious. And I do agree with Ginnie.
Aussie: Thank you Florence.
Wow, fantastic. Very Ansell Adams I agree.
Aussie: Thank you, glad you liked it Lilith.
Great shot Aussie.
Great idea to convert this to B+W- emphasises the mood and rock so well. If I can be very cheeky, folks can see what this looks like from two miles away in my archive, 6th January. I do apologise if that was going to be your next one!
It's lovely seeing how visitors like yourself see it all- thanks.
Aussie: I posted a distant one on the 4th of June that is in almost the same spot as yours except mines from the road way. Love yours by the way.
I noticed your blog and this picture is wow, I've been through almost all of your pictures, they are beautiful.
The sunrise earlier this months is stunning, bravo.
Aussie: Thank you very much Astrid, Glad you liked them.
Great B&W landscape, very heavy atmosphere, Thumbs up !!
Hi Aussie. Can I be a bit picky? Only there is something or someone just to the right of that shrub on the right. It really distracts. If you cropped that right hand bit off I don't think the picture loses anything and the shrub would hold the bottom corner in.Cheers Bill
Aussie: Bill you can be a bit picky anytime you like. I always welcome constructive suggestions as I am trying to improve. And in this case I happen to agree with you. He wasn't as obvious in the coloured version and I didn't really notice til after I posted it.. Thank you for your comment.
I like the dreamy and mysterious atmosphere.
Lovely atmospheric shot. All the best, Dave.
