I love the colors in this photo!

Aussie: Thank you Helen, this is the colour this has always been. Well as long as I can remember. Paint must have been on special.

I love landmarks like that, Aussie, when everyone knows exactly what/where you mean! That is one gorgeous structure. A nice meeting place!

Aussie: It looks exactly as I remember it from the first time I ever saw it. The shade of yellow just get dirty looking or faded, then they spruce it up again.

Interesting colour to the stonework Aussie. Where to the trains go to?

Aussie: They have always had it this colour. (well in my lifetime) This is the central station for all the suburban trains. 9 clocks = 9 lines. Lilydale, Dandenong, Sunshine. Broadmeadows, Williamstown, Ferntree Gully, Frankston, Epping, and Hurstbridge. These were the original destinations but as the city has grown there have been extensions etc so now some of these lines may have 2 or more extra lines. For these you look at the digital displays that are everywhere in the station concourse. because of course the interior has been extensively updated.

Aussie: Yep and what a proud day that is to celebrate the taking over of a country that had NO PEOPLE living here. And we remain proud in all we have achieved for the original people and animals.

I should add that is my sarcastic humour incase anyone else reads it and takes me seriously.

Aussie: It is heritage listed now so should always remain as is.

This clock is not to be missed here, love the color, wonder why LOL at Louis, I was going to ask, WHEN is Australia day.

Aussie: The big clock gives the actual time the 9 other clocks give the time for the next train to specific suburban locations. Australia day is January 26 and it is the anniversary of Captin Cooks Landing at Sydney Cove, when he declared the land was vacant with no-one else living here so claimed it for the Britsh Empire. Australia was originally called New Holland because the first explorers to see the Western Australian coastline were from Holland. There is some evidence (recently discovered) that that he actually landed in the north of Western Australia.

Aussie: Lunch time is good for me and I'll stand between the two policemen who always seem to be standing on the top steps under the 9 clocks.

What a great building. Is the brick really that colour?

Aussie: The British designed it and in my lifetime it has always been this colour

There's always a clock for people to meet under, and they always look rather special.

Aussie: This one has 10 clocks all up. One with the real time and nine with the time for the next train on that line.
