Metal I would suggest
Aussie: The Chain holding him on and the stand is, but he's not. http://www.thewalltasmania.com/
Great sculpture of this beautiful Eagle Aussie... is he related to Vintage's metal Pelicans on the Brisbane River grin....petersmile
Aussie: No he is in Tasmania.
Old airplane parts? You photographed him well. It must be bird day on ShutterChance.
Aussie: No he's in one piece.

Hmmmm. Elizabeth may be right...airplane parts? Whatever, he sure is impressive, Aussie.
Aussie: No, no-ones right so far and he is in one piece. I thought he was good but once I saw inside I was absolutely amazed. http://www.thewalltasmania.com/

Wood - just because the other obvious materials, were all wrong.
Aussie: yes thats right Louis
From your replies so far wood has to be favourite but I have a feeling he might be made out of coal
Aussie: Wood Bill, the artist has the most amazing items in his gallery apart from the huge wall he is doing. Perfectly formed, shaped with beautiful soft curved make up a pair of timber garden gloves draped over a shovel. Such a simple thing and something we have all done without even thinking about it and he makes it an art form.
I would say wood as well Aussie!
Quite an original capture.

Lots of birds on shutterchance today, Aussie. He must be precious as he seems to be chained down
Aussie: He is probably made from Huon pine which is used to make boats. Since the only area that they used to log it from has been made into a Wilderness National Park the price has sky rocketed. The top of his head is going dark from the oil off peoples hands as you just cannot resist giving it a rub to reassure yourself it is wood.
whatever it is, he's menacing!
A good capture... in B&W too. Is he a natural wood colour or painted?
