FLOOD

You can see the bridge in the background. There are two that cross the river at the city centre, the locals call them the old or new bridge as they are both concrete monsters it took me a while to work out which was which.

Such a lot of water, I do hope it isn't causing too much damage. It does make for a good picture though.
I hope you are recovering/recovered from your slip on the wet steps. Is that the only effect the flooding has had on you? Apart from the photography of course.
Aussie: yes that has been the only effect of the floods on me. My son hasn't been able to visit because he lives just outside of Rockhampton and is cut off by the flood water.

It almost looks like snow and ice, Aussie. I guess that would be even worse than all the flooding?! I keep listening to the news, following what's happening to you there closely. Astrid told me yesterday the land size affected would be like France and Germany flooded together. 850,000 sq. km. Unbelievable.

Did you take your wellingtom boots Aussie?
Aussie: No wouldn't get that close because of the crocs.
Dramatic. Terrible for those that have been flooded. Not so long ago Australia had years of drought.
I hope the water soon receeds!! I know how scary it can be. We have had our share last year!
It makes a fine picture Aussie but I do feel very sorry for all those who's homes are caught up in this. The sad thing is that after two or three days the media move on and we never hear what happens a few months down the line.
Its reported here that you now have trouble with snakes as well, very scary stuff. smile
A wonderful shot of a tragic situation Aussie..I do hope you were not effected.

it's an awesome shot but the water has such a devastating effect on everything. I really hope it going to be alright rather sooner then later. How are your broken bones doing?

I do think of you a lot, we hope that is is over soon and that people can be out again and start cleaning up.
The picture is wonderful, but the sight is awful, if you know what I mean.
Hang in there, Aussie.
