Cormorant

 

Vintage and I were in the birdhide which was built out over the water. It is perfectly placed facing a few rocks where the birds land.  This cormorant and the heron (from last week) were standing either end of the rocks when we arrived. Patience paid off as this one made his way over level with the heron took a drink of water then eased into the water and swam to shore.

If you take the bird out of the image, I actually love the way the muddy bank and the ripples in the water arrow towards each other. The bird is a happy bonus! (:o)

Beautiful moment! I love how you captured him in mid-stride! And he certainly left a rather large wake!
