photoblog image 2007 PINK RIBBON RIDE

2007 PINK RIBBON RIDE

Yesterday was the annual pink ribbon ride to raise funds for breast cancer research. Some of the guys got right into the spirit of the occassion.  Last year there were well over 1,000 bikes and at a guess there was a lot more this year. Each person pays $10 to ride, so they raise a substantial amount of money. Despite this the media last year totally ignored the event.

This angel was one of the people that I managed to get a photo of after the ride so will post that tomorrow.

Good for him.Thats it, get into the spirit of things.... Love the wings!
Aussie: Once he was off the bike and had the helmet off he had the a really nice pink scarf on his head. I'm sure he must have borrowed it from a female.
Great sense of movement in this photograph. (:o)
Aussie: Thank you Rosalyn.
banging shot

the highlights are tad blown out though

did you pan, to get this shot or were you also in a moving vehicle?
Aussie: I was standing at a T intersection where they would have to slow, check for vehicles comming on their right (to give way) then move a round the corner. So I panned as they went around the bend and moved down the road. I'm not savvy enough in photoshop to fix the blowout. Thankyou for your comments.
Great idea and a good shot. Typical of the media to ignore good news.

Nice movement, but the blown parts spoils it somewhat. Wouldn't have seen the 'wings' if it was not for your comment.

Some work on highlight contrasts may have fixed it.

A funny capture and a very good motion blur!
Aussie: Martin, the blur was not post processing, I'm not that good. Just panning the camera.
Great shot. I like the speed effect
Aussie: The speed effect was just moving the camera (panning) with the motion of the bike.
Very well done Aussie !!
