photoblog image Scottish Highlands

Scottish Highlands

Just for something different, this week I'll post some of my photos from Scotland, where most of the scenery  was breath taking. These were taken while I was on a tour of the highlands. I worked in the UK for 9 months, which was a wonderful opportunity to travel to some lovely spots.

Hey! getting very close to encroaching on my territory herewink Only joking- this is a lovely shot of one of my most favourite spots near my home. For those interested, the mountains are called the Five Sisters, and there is a tiny village at that gap called Shiel Bridge. I'm glad you liked my homeland! smile
Aussie: I loved your homeland, David. One of the Scottish guys I work with jokes that I've seen more of Scotland than he has.
Really nice framing. I love the line of snow across the distant ridge.
Aussie: Thank you for your comment, I can't take a lot of credit as it would have been almost impossible to take a bad pic of this scene.

There is nothing like the Scottish Highlands, Aussie. I can totally attest to that. We were there 2 years ago and will never forget it. I'd go back in a New York minute! And this pic is why!
Aussie: I would too, ginnie.

This is quite beautiful! I always envisioned Scotland to be mostly rounded hills, but obviously I was wrong.
Aussie: You know I had the same idea, with lots of green etc. It was a beautiful surprise.

beautiful shot aussie. imagine if you had the 5d then.
Aussie: I had used the trip as an excuse to buy the 300d and had barely worked out how to use it, so I can only imagine how much better the shot would be if I'd had some idea of what I was doing. Thanks for the visit.
Hey Aussie, if they are all as good as this it's going to be a good week!
Aussie: OOPS Should have left best to last. Thank you

Magnificent... Just simply magnificent !!!
Aussie: Thank you Roland, I'm glad you like it
Nice composition, but where's the haggis?
Aussie: I did try white haggis, while I was there, as it does not contain any meat.

A wild and magnificent landscape - you have captured the subtle colours of Scotland very well.
