Talk about aerodynamic, Aussie! That's one proud bird.
Aussie: He was great and flying along a river in the centre of Chengdu City.
This is a lovely action shot! Is it an Egret?
Aussie: Yes a white Heron.
Very Nice, it is almost like he is looking at you.
Aussie: Yes and probably thinking, "if that silly woman leans any further over the wall she'll end up in the water."
Judicious framing including shadow.

Ah, Louis will die with envy seeing this kind of bird photography. Love the shadow, he was flying very low.
Fantastic! Talk about snapping a perfect moment, you couldn't have timed it better.
I`m guessing it is some type of egret.

Looks a lot like a white heron. But I am more interested in 'where were you' when the picture was taken? Were you carried by Superman?

Great picture and that shadow is a clincher.
Aussie: Louis I knew you would want to know those ? This was in the midle of a major city "Chengdu". It has a river that flows through it and in a lot of areas they have built large walls so the river sits down in between the walls. Large areas of parkland have been built up to the top of the walls. He was flying above the river in the gully formed by the walls and I of course was up on the wall.

This is simply lovely! I have been trying to capture birds in flight with no luck. This photo is perfect and the added shadow gives it even more appeal.
